STEP TEC's first 42,000 rpm spindle
STEP TEC develops and manufactures its first 42,000 rpm high-speed motor spindle for Mikron AG. With several thousand units manufactured, this successful product is still part of today's portfolio.

Launch of SMM

SMM - Smart Machine Module
The SMM included several innovative features for improving the machine performance. One of them is the OSS (Operator Support System) and was patented, Another important module of the package was the ITC (Intelligent Thermal Compensation) which was one of the first temperature-compensation features in the industry. Both OSS and ITC are still fundamental features of our machines.
