Capitalizing on the pattern
Manufacturers across the globe are leveraging our technology to drive their own waves of innovation, serving some of the most challenging industries out there. From defense, medical and automotive to aerospace, power generation, mold and die, and more, these elite manufacturers recognize their investments in machine tools as one of the most critical decisions one can make running a manufacturing business. Therefore, they’ve chosen to partner with “the best of the best” – their words, not ours.
Throughout this Summer, we’ll release five manufacturing spotlights, celebrating the innovations our customers are delivering to the markets they’re serving, and highlighting the unlimited potential of our incredible manufacturing technology when it’s in the right hands.
A Pattern Of Invention: Ontario Drive & Gear
Ontario Drive & Gear, based in Ontario, Canada, manufactures high performance gear boxes for some of the most challenging applications, as well as the world-renowned Argo and line of amphibious vehicles. Their products are expected to offer peak performance in the harshest environments. Because of this, they turn to STUDER cylindrical grinders to make mission critical components for their gear boxes.
A Pattern of Invention: Skeletal Dynamics
Skeletal Dynamics, based in Miami, Florida, is the only medical device manufacturer focused exclusively on the upper extremity, designing and producing innovative orthopedic implants and surgical instruments for the hand, wrist and arm. Their surgeon-driven products must follow native anatomy—with no straight lines, no flat surfaces and very little margin for error. Because of this, they rely on MIKRON MILL 5-axis machining centers, running 11 machines 24/7 in fully unattended lights-out production to manufacture some of the most complicated bone plates in the industry.
A Pattern of Invention: De Boer Tool
De Boer Tool started as a single machine tool grinding shop operating out of a garage. 26 years later, they’re the largest cutting tool manufacturer in Canada, running more than 20 WALTER machines in their shop in Mississauga, Canada. Producing custom cutting tools for the most demanding industries such as aerospace and automotive meant choosing the right partner to build their business on was critical, which is why they chose WALTER.
A Pattern of Invention: EDM Technologies
EDM Technologies started in 1988 as a single machine shop making automotive extrusion tooling. Today, they operate more than 20 AGIE CHARMILLES die sinker and wire EDM machines, supporting the most challenging industries including power generation, aerospace and medical. For 38 years, the team at EDM Technologies has partnered with AGIE CHARMILLES, leveraging world-class technology and customer support to grow into the largest EDM manufacturing shop in the Southeast United States.

When it comes to manufacturing “Class 101” injection molds, quality standards must be held to the highest level – no questions. That’s why this manufacturer selected AGIE CHARMILLES and MIKRON MILL machines to deliver on this quality promise.
